Posted November 02, 2018 06:25:52 A family from a small village in Australia’s Kimberley region is hoping to give the world the taste of a cashew, but they need your help.
The family’s first product is a chocolate bar.
“It’s just a small chocolate bar that we put in the freezer, it’s made from cashew and we’ve had people try it,” a mother-of-four from Adelaide, who asked not to be named, told 7.30.
“I like it a lot because it tastes really good.”
Her mother-in-law, Sarah, said she was not aware of the name of the brand and was just hoping to get some feedback.
“They don’t have it in Australia yet, so if we can get it through the customs process, it would be amazing,” she said.
“We just want to get it out to the rest of the world so we can see what people think.”
The family has already received more than 20,000 e-mails from around the world.
“People have been sending us photos of the chocolate bar,” Ms Sarah said.
The product has been passed around as far afield as China, South Africa and Japan, and she is hoping it can find its way to Australia.
“But I’m not sure if we will have a chance to get the product in Australia,” she added.
“This is our first chocolate bar, so we’re trying to make it to the best of our abilities.”
The Australian company making the chocolate bars is a family run business called Cottage Cheese.
“When we started this business, we did a lot of research and found out we couldn’t sell it here in Australia, so now we’re here in New Zealand,” Ms Sam said.
